About Baruch College

Baruch College, or Bernard M. Baruch College, as it is officially called, is a public university in New York City, the most populous city in the US, and the center of the New York Metropolitan area, which is one of the most populous metropolitan area in the world. According to the 2009 census estimate, there are more than 8 million people, living within New York City's limits.

Baruch was established in 1919, and traces its roots back to the founding of the Free Academy, the first institution of free public higher education in USA. It currently offers its students undergraduate and graduate programs through its Zicklin School of Business, the Mildred and George Weissman School of Arts and Sciences, which offers a full range of traditional liberal arts disciplines, and the School of Public Affairs.
